High-Precision Radon Measurements
There has been a growing need for a Rn monitor unit capable of high-precision reference measurements. The Radon Scout eXpert by SARAD has been specifically developped to meet this need.
Outstanding Sensitivity With Incredible Stability
The Radon Scout eXpert offers an outstanding sensitivity of 25 cpm/(kBq/m³). The instrument employs unique technology that makes it unaffected by variations in temperature and humidity, external radiation, mechanical shocks, and vibrations. The new radon monitor comes with the established SARAD communication protocol. This allows for a seamless data transfer with the Radon Vision software (V8 and higher) or integration within an existing infrastructure.
The Radon Scout eXpert
The unit comes with a USB interface as well as relay output and Wi-Fi connection. For ease of use, the device is equipped with display and control buttons. Direct start/stop and measurement evaluation can be performed without the need of an external PC or control unit. LED indicators provide information about radon threshold violation, battery, and measurement status. Actual and average radon values as well as estimated dose can all be displayed directly on the unit. Due to its high sensitivity, Radon Scout eXpert can be used as a reference instrument in calibration labs or science facilities. Since it is a mobile unit, it is a superb measurement unit to deploy when quick and reliable Radon assessment is required, whether in Bq or MBq range.
Power Supply or Battery Operation
The device works with a simple 5V power supply or two AA-batteries which can be used in case of mobile deployment. In the case of power outages the unit can continue the measurement uninterrupted on battery power. All measurement results will be stored locally in non-volatile circular memory. Sensors for temperature and humidity are integrated as a standard. The CO2 or barometric pressure sensor can be equipped as an option.
Calibration
The Radon Scout eXpert comes with a calibration certificate according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018 from SARAD DAkkS-accredited laboratory.
A standard calibration is performed at a radon concentration of 3 000 Bq/m³, with prior determination of the background effect. A second calibration point at a radon concentration of 300 Bq/m³ is possible on demand and at additional cost. A separate calibration certificate is created for each calibration point.
